Workshop
Design brief for our team was to design a game concept for Sam who is not familiar to exercises but interested in playing video games. Our team members were Ryan, Kruthi, Tim and Myself. Our objective was to create an exergame which could motive our persona to do exercise during the lockdown. This activity was facilitated by Biyi.
We began the brainstorming session in the mural discussing all the possible games that could have better suited. We discussed games like ugly duckling tag, Superhero games, the game of thrones where the joystick controls can be converted into swords and a lot more. In between that moment, I experienced bad internet connectivity and got disconnect out of the workspace. We were going through an interesting brainstorming session and my bad luck that I missed major parts of that session. By the time I rejoined into the team for the contribution our team came up with a strong and interesting concept of game design for the objective.

They then briefed me about the game concept which is zombie apocalypse that happened in our university. There were battling elements such as baseball bat that makes use of the Nintendo switch technology. Other elements like glue guns, katana swords-Kenjutsu, Hawaiian art of breaking bones were involved in the strategy of the game. The storylines were connected to the life experiences in university combined with famous TV shows like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead. It was a funny exergame that we presented to the entire class where everyone enjoyed. The entertainment element was particularly how we implemented the storyline with our university experiences and tools with the props that are familiar to us in the workshop.
